EASMC Dues Information
Sliding Scale Dues
Dues for MSEA and NEA are computed on a tier plan. MSEA dues are based on salary. NEA dues are based on the percentage of hours worked per week at your job. They are combined, along with EASMC dues, for your total dues payment as shown in the chart below. Please contact the EASMC office if you need more information on the dues scale.
Dues for 2009-2010
Ways to Pay
Payroll Deduction - You (employees with benefits) can pay your EASMC dues in 16 easy installments through payroll deduction. These start the second pay period in October.
Check - You can write a check to cover the full amount of your EASMC dues. If you mark that choice on your application, MSEA will send you a reminder in August that your dues are due. If you are not paying by payroll deduction, you have until September 1st to complete your payment. After December 1, unpaid dues will be deducted via payroll deduction (the amount deducted per pay period will be more since there will be less than 16 deductions remaining).
Credit Card - You can put your EASMC dues on your credit card. This gives you the flexibility to pay them off over time at a pace that is good for you.
Prorated Dues
If you join in the middle of the school year for the first time, EASMC will prorate your dues under some conditions. This means that if you join half way through the year, you will pay one half of the year’s dues. Prorated dues are available for members returning from leave or hired later in the year. They are not available for members who were members in the past and let their membership lapse, or who had the option to join when hired and did not.
Spring Membership Promotion
Between April 1st and August 31st, you can sign up for EASMC/MSEA/NEA “Early Enrollment” membership and be covered by only the NEA Educators Employment Liability (EEL) Program insurance at no cost to you. You will be considered a member in full standing on September 1st. If you do not continue your membership into the following school year for any reason and have used this benefit, the amount of benefit given to you will be owed back to the Association.
